McGraw's all-instrumental debut album, Photon Life, is a spacey exploration of otherworldly guitar tones, electronica inspired beats, and melodic passages interwoven with explosive shredding. Entirely self-produced, right down to the album artwork, Photon Life is a unique statement from a new guitar talent, blending influences as disparate as Pink Floyd and Joe Satriani into a modern ensemble of synths and digital techno wizardry.

Following up his debut album, McGraw helped form the progressive hard rock band Red Penguin. McGraw also recorded and produced the Red Penguin EP, featuring eight originals from the Alaskan-based group.

McGraw got his first guitar on his 16th birthday. Inspired by a desire to score dates with girls, he advanced rapidly on the instrument, even winning a couple of competitions before he was out of high school. Unfortunately, very few dates were scored, as McGraw preferred to brood inside his room and hide from the cruel world whilst honing his guitar mastery. He always thought, "One day, I'll be popular, and all the girls will want me." Having recently discovered MySpace, McGraw's dreams of ... wait, this is off topic.

Chris McGraw plays the guitar... and teaches guitar lessons in Wasilla, Alaska... and sometimes he sings... but not often. If you *really* want to know more about him, and see pictures etc., check out the links section on this website... and *DEFINITELY* go to www.redpenguinband.com!! Thanks.

The end.
